Islamic renaissance

A question to readers:

If Islamic civilisation was the midwife of the Renaissance in Europe, and all that subsequently flowed from it, then can modern European form knowledge part of any contemporary Islamic renaissance?

(This question came to me after I was reading this post by Yakoub Islam.)
