IslamExpo will be held this coming weekend from 6-9 July at Alexandra Palace. The event will also see the start of The Cordoba Foundation which aims to 'train specialists in cross-cultural dialogue'. Tickets start at £15 and there are reduced prices for families, senior citizens and children. There will be a variety of speakers, including Yusuf Islam, Tariq Ramadan, Ken Livingstone, Abdelbari Atwan, Sebastian Coe, Madeleine Bunting and Frank Gardner. Incidentally, the event coincides with the annivesary of the July bombings in London. This, I fear, will allow some an excuse to crank up their bigotry (not that they needed much excuse in the first place). For this reason, I would question holding the event on these dates and allowing such people to spread their muck.
